PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
Harry Loudon was one of the three founders of Strand Central Holdings Pty Ltd, the successful tenderer for the re-development of the old Townsville General Hospital in Townsville, North Queensland. The old TGH was situated on 4 hectares of elevated land adjacent to the city centre and Strand beachside precint in Townsville. It had 9 multi-storey buildings and over 50,000 square metres of floor area.
Harry's previous property development experience was as the General Manager of Kern Corporation in the early 1980's. He managed the development of Kern's Australia-wide property development projects including shopping centres, inner city redevelopments, hotels and office buildings.
The work involved:
- targeting development prospects.
- tendering for projects.
- purchasing and rezoning land.
- leading multi-disciplinary consultant teams in the preparation of conceptual and detailed designs and cost estimates.
- evaluating projects and preparing detailed feasibility studies and sales proposals.
- company relations with state and local government, business, sporting, community and professional bodies.
- negotiating development agreements and gaining government approvals.
His projects included shopping centres, city office buildings, tourist resorts and hotels.
